AURA TERMS & CONDITONS

Cancellation Policy:

Upon booking, your treatment appointment is reserved specifically for you. We therefore ask that you notify us at least 48 hours in advance if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment.Late cancellations and ‘no show’ appointments cost us precious time and could be filled by other clients in need of an appointment. Therefore, less than 24 hours or ‘No shows’ will be charged the full cost of the treatment. Any future appointments will be cancelled until debt is paid.Due to the latest Covid 19 outbreak, an exception will be made upon this charge if:-You have a fever at time of your appointment.

  • You are showing other signs of the virus at time of your appointment.
  • You are in isolation due to a household member or someone you have been in close contact with that is showing signs of Covid -19.

AGE OF CONSENT  POLICY

At Aura, our clients well-being and safety is paramount.This also takes into consideration our younger clients. Any client under 16 will need written parent or guardian consent before treatments take place. We also require that the parent or guardian is present for the treatment. Forms are available in the salon to be completed. 

  • Treatments that we do not offer to under 16’s include:
  • Intimate waxing (clients must be 18+)
  • Nail extensions
  • Facials – Aura Age resist and Microdermabrasion
  • Hot Stone Massage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Lash Lift
  • Brow Lamination

PATCH TEST POLICIES

Here at Aura, our clients safety and comfort i sat the forefront of everything we do. We have strict patch testing polices in place prior to certain treatments we carry out to ensure we follow brand set guidelines and offer the very best service we can.

PLEASE NOTE: No reaction to a patch test is still not a guarantee that a reaction will not occur during or after the treatment, this is an informed risk that you choose to take when undergoing any treatment. 

  • Patch testing must be carried out a minimum of 48 hours prior tot he treatment.
  • Patch tests carried out at other establishments are not valid.
  • We do not accept disclaimers or waivers in place of a patch test.
  • Treatments for 16’s and under are not permitted without Parent/Guardian consent 
  • It is not mandatory to be patch tested for eyelash extensions, however we offer patch testing should you wish to. 
Lash and Brow Tinting & Brow Henna Patch Testing Policy
  • If a reaction should occur within 48 hours, this could be in the form of redness, itching, swelling or similar. Immediately. remove your patch test (remove with water) and seek advice from a GP or pharmacist. Even if only a slight reaction occurs, we will not be able to carry out the tinting treatment.
  • You must not remove or wash off the patch test before your therapist has advised (unless a reaction occurs), your therapist will check the area of testing before your treatment takes place.
  • Please be aware that if you are taking medications such as antihistamines, they can mask a reaction during the patch test but may not be strong enough to counter a full reaction during or after the treatment
  • We cannot patch test or carry out the tint or henna treatments if any of the following apply: A previous severe allergy/ sensitivity/ problem has been caused by any tint, dye or henna treatments in the past You have sensitive, irritatedor damaged skin around the treatment area.
Lash Lift and Brow Lamination Patch Testing Policy:
  • A positive result will be recognised by irritation, swelling or inflammation of the skin. If this occurs, we must not proceed with the treatment. A negative result produces no skin reaction and you can proceed with the treatment. If a reaction occurs, immediately remove your patch test (remove with water) and seek advice from a GP or pharmacist. Even if only a slight reaction occurs, we will not be able to carry out the treatment. If you only have a reaction to the tint product and not the lift/lamination products, we will be able to proceed without the tinting part if you so wish.
  • You will need to be tested for the lift products, adhesive and tint.
  • ·You must not remove or wash off the patch test before your therapist has advised (unless a reaction occurs), your therapist will check the area of testing before your treatment takes place. Please notify us immediately shoulda reaction occur so we can make a full record on your client record card.
  • Please be aware that if you are taking medications such as antihistamines, they can mask a reaction during the patch test but may not be strong enough to counter a full reaction during or after the treatment.
  • ·We cannot patch test or carry out the tint or henna treatments if any of the following apply:
    1) A previous severe allergy/ sensitivity/ problem has been caused by any tint, dye or henna treatments in the past. 2) You have sensitive, irritated or damaged skin around the treatment area.
Lash Extensions PatchTesting Policy:
  • It is no longer mandatory to patch test for lash extensions.Brands now advise that a small amount on of glue on the eye area or skin (which is not recommended) will not determine if you have a reaction or not.  Reactions are more common in clients that have been wearing lashes regularly for approx.6 months, due to an intolerance that the body builds up.
  • Our supplier has created a form that explains this information in detail, which you will need to sign.
  • If you do decide to have a patch test (a couple of lashes applied) and if a reaction should occur within 48 hours, this could be in the form of redness, itching, swelling or similar. Immediately rinse the area where tested and seek advice from a GP or pharmacist. Even if only a slight reaction occurs, we will not be able to carry out this treatment. Please notify us immediately should a reaction occur so we can make a full record on your client record card.
  • Please be aware that if you are taking antihistamines or other medications, they can mask a reaction during the patch test but may not be strong enough to counter a full reaction after the treatment which is an increased risk. If you are concerned you may decide not to have this treatment.
Spray Tan PatchTesting Policy:
  • If a reaction should occur within 48 hours, this could be in the form of redness, itching, swelling or similar. Immediately remove your patch test (remove with water) and seek advice from a GP or pharmacist. Even if onlya slight reaction occurs, we will not be able to carry out the tinting treatment.
  • You must not remove or wash off the patch test before your therapist has advised (unless a reaction occurs), your therapist will check the area of testing before your treatment takes place.
  • Please be aware that if you are taking medications such as antihistamines, they can mask a reaction during the patch test but may not be strong enough to counter a full reaction during or after the treatment.
  • We cannot patch test or carry out the tint or henna treatments if any of the following apply:
    1) A previous severe allergy/ sensitivity/ problem has been caused by any tint, dye or henna treatments in the past. 2) You have sensitive, irritated or damaged skin around the treatment area.
  • You will not be able to have a spray tan if pregnant. Skinny Tan is non-toxic, and has been manufactured from quality ingredients to the highest Australian standards, and is not known to have any detrimental effects on an expectant mother. However, if women use any tanning sprays, or a spray-tanning booth, they may inhale some of the vapours. There is no evidence to know how breathing in ANY tanning spray will affect an unborn baby. To be on the safe side during pregnancy, Skinny Tan would suggest using cream-based tanning onlyAND to check with your physician before using any of our products.
